Posted: Tue Aug 09, 2011 02:22 PM | | I experimented with the mods, but the whole scene seemed so fragmented and trying to fly online irregularly just didn't work out for me, so I'm sticking with vanilla. That said, I sure miss the sounds of the mods. That one thing is IMO the greatest flaw of IL2... all the planes sound the same.

Posted: Tue Aug 09, 2011 03:02 PM | | hsfx 5.01, online 99.5% of the time. having to prat around with this release candidate UP has turned me right off it. i want to fly, not download a myriad of files. also uneasy at the stated aim of rewriting stock things rather than adding new slots, considering the vast majority of my time is online, i don't want to be flying a different plane compared to stock players.

4.101M + UP3 + DBW (just installed this to try out Ranwer's B-26B mod) With the latest UP3, you can use the mod switcher and run the base game, UP3, or DBW with the same install.

Posted: Wed Aug 10, 2011 06:54 AM | | DBW is the thing for me. As I almost always play offline. But in that MOD you can always in a VERY easy way switch to vanilla 4.101 (and then back again), so I don't really see the problem

You don't need experience.. all you need is a bit of patiece.. Pick the right server.. and have fun. I usually fly modded.. HSFX 5.01 primarily
