A young mother was stabbed to death by her jealous ex just hours after she announced her new relationship on Facebook, an inquest has heard.
Regan Tierney, 27, was killed in her own home by Daniel Patten, 31, in a horrific murder-suicide in Salford, Greater Manchester in 2019.
The pair had been in an 'on and off' relationship and had two children together, an inquest into Ms Tierney's death heard.
Bolton Coroners Court was told the mother-of-two updated her Facebook status on June 4, 2019, to show she was in a relationship with a new man.
Her heartbroken sister, Shannon, said Patten had sent Ms Tierney a screenshot of the update immediately, even though she had blocked him on Facebook.
Later, Shannon texted Ms Tierney asking if Patten had sent her anything else, to which she replied 'no'.
Heartbreakingly, that was the last conversation Shannon had with her sister as just hours later, Patten called Ms Tierney's grandfather and told him he had killed her.

Daniel Patten (pictured) was found with critical injuries and died shortly after
The court heard the family rushed to Ms Tierney's house, where her body was discovered lying in bed upstairs, covered in blood.
Patten had also been discovered with critical injuries and was taken to hospital.
Ms Tierney was pronounced dead at the scene and Patten later died of his injuries.
Shannon, who wore a t-shirt with a picture of her sister printed on it, told the court Patten had previously received a suspended sentence for an attack on Ms Tierney.
Shannon said this took place following a dispute where her sister wanted to go home but Pattern did not and that Ms Tierney had choked on her blood during the incident.
On May 25, 2019 both Miss Tierney and her father Dave Tierney also phoned the police to report Patten's abusive behaviour.
She said in a statement read to the court: 'My sister was murdered on June 5, 2019 at her home address on Manchester Road, Walkden.
'I would be better off without a hand or leg than without my sister. It is like I am missing a limb, I am missing my best friend.
'She was not listened to, it was fatal.
'He got in her face and punched her. She fell to the floor and Daniel continued to punch and stamp on her.
'After the suspended sentence there was a lot of mental abuse.
'He would send her messages telling her she was fat, she was horrible and no other man would want her.'
Police were called to Regan's house in Salford, Greater Manchester, just before 2.10am on Wednesday, June 5, 2019.
Emergency services attended and found Regan's body triggering a murder probe.
In a statement issued at the time of her death, Regan's family said: 'She was a loving mum who loved family life, she will be greatly missed by her two children and family.
'Regan was taken from our lives too soon. She was a beautiful daughter, granddaughter, sister, niece, and an amazing mother.
'We will forever cherish the memories.'

A Domestic Homicide Review was previously commissioned by Salford Community Safety Partnership, following concerns about Regan's contact with Greater Manchester Police and other agencies prior to her death.
The report found that a number of opportunities were missed by services including GMP, GP practices, Bolton NHS FT services, Greater Manchester Mental Health Foundation, and Salford Royal NHS Trust.
During their 10-year relationship, Miss Tierney was subject to coercive and controlling behaviour, intimidation, verbal abuse, physical violence and threats, at the hands of Patten.
But despite disclosing that she had been the victim of domestic violence to several professionals, the review found that Miss Tierney was never referred to specialist domestic abuse services.
There were also missed opportunities to protect the young mother by Bolton NHS Foundation Trust A&E after she presented with a broken nose in October 2012, the review found.
Miss Tierney told hospital staff that it was Patten who had caused the injury, but there was no consideration by staff at the trust to refer her to specialist domestic abuse services.
Greater Manchester Police also undertook a risk assessment with Regan following the assault, which was marked as 'standard risk,' but then increased to 'medium risk.'
The inquest, before Coroner Peter Sigee, continues.
