No. 3 Pierre28, No. 7 Aberdeen Central 20 --Pierre's defense flexed its muscle in the second half to overcome a halftime deficit and defeat Aberdeen Central.Two Central turnovers in the second half dampened the Golden Eagles upset bid.Central led 21-7 in the first half and 21-14 at halftime, but couldn't find the end zone after the break. The turnover hurt, including when Pierre intercepted a pass in the end zone to turn the Golden Eagles away. Central had driven inside the 10, but tooka sack before the turnover. Late in the game, Central had the ball with a chance to score, but couldn't connect on fourth and long. The Eagles again got the ball back with about 30 seconds to play, but were out of time outs. They drove into Pierre territory before time ran out.
Class 11A
No. 1 Madison 38,No. 4 Dell Rapids 28 --Nathan Ricke ran for 220 yards with a touchdown as Madison surged in the second half to beat Dell Rapids. The game was tied 7-7 at halftime, and the Bulldogs scored 13 points in the third quarter and 18 points in the fourth. Trey Smith ran for 20 yards and contributed three rushing scores. Ricke added 190 yards passing with a TD pass to Dillon Bickett, who had 74 yards receiving. For Dells, Austin Henry threw for 188 yards with a touchdown and ran for 32 yards with three TDs. His lone TD pass was to Landon Ruesink. Madison outgained Dell Rapids 475-379.
No. 7 Milbank 24, No. 3 Vermillion 0 --Seventh-seeded Milbank Area (8-3) used another stellar defensive effort to continue their late-season surge. Milbank Area, which will be gunning for its second state championship in the history of the playoffs and its first since 2009, did just enough offensively to mix with a defense that created three more turnovers and pitched another shutout. Milbank Area finished with 209 yards of offense, including 170 on the ground. Kaden Krause led the attack with 66 yards on 17 carries. Bennett Schwenn added 59 on eight totes and Marshall Voeltz, returning from an injury during the season, 32 on six. Krause went 4-for-4 passing for 39 yards. Krause had two rushing TDs and a passing TD.

No. 1 Winner 52, No. 5 Elk Point-Jefferson 14 -- The Warriors are headed to their third straight title game.The multi-threat Warriors were dominant again, as five different players scored and four rushers combined for six of their seven touchdowns. Riley Orel led the running back corps with 163 yards and two touchdowns on nine carries, while Kaden Keiser punched in two scores and finished with 81 yards on nine carries and Aiden Barfuss added 64 yards and one touchdown on 10 carries. Cole scored one touchdown on the ground and another through the air, ending 4 of 4 for 71 yards.

No. 9 Platte-Geddes 23, No. 5 Timber Lake 2-0
No. 11 Canistota/Freeman 24, No. 2 Parkston 20 --Tage Ortman's 20-yard touchdown pass to Will Ortman with 1:27 to play in the game sent Canistota/Freeman over Parkston. Tage Ortman completed 16 passes for 247 yards and threw two touchdown passes. Will Ortman had two receiving TDs and 113 yards. Noah Kleinsasser also had a receiving TD. Isiah Robertson's only completed pass was a TD. For Parkston, Kaleb Weber threw for 61 yards and a TD to Max Scott. Cole Prunty ran for 97 yards with a TD and Payton Albrecht ran for a score.
Class 9A
No. 1 Herreid/Selby Area 16, No. 4 De Smet 14 --It was a tale of two halves as the No. 1 Herreid-Selby Wolverines used a second-half push to defeat the No. 4 DeSmet Bulldogs. In the first half, DeSmet took control of the game early with running plays.After driving into the red zone, the Bulldogs drew two penalties, sending them as far back as the 17-yard line.But, it was the passing game that earned them points on the scoreboard. Colt Wilkinson found Kalen Garry for a 13-yard passing touchdown to put DeSmet up 6-0. After a string of defensive stops, Herreid-Selby punted the ball insideits own 40-yard line, setting the Bulldogs up for a rushing touchdown and a 14-0 lead.Coming out of the break, in the third quarter, the Wolverines were able to get on the board twice, with a 5-yard rushing touchdown and a 4-yard passing touchdown to take the lead 16-14.For the Wolverines, Brenden Begeman led the rushing attack and finished with 134 yards on the ground, with both a rushing and receiving touchdown.He also converted on both conversion attempts for the Wolverines.

No. 5 Dell Rapids St. Mary 32,No. 1 Avon 30 --St. Mary scored 12 unanswered points in the fourth quarter to rally past previously undefeated Avon. Nic Gaspar's 65-yard touchdown run got Dell Rapids to within four points at 30-26. Gabriel Lindeman scored the winning touchdown with 1:21 to play with a 23-yard run. Gaspar ran for 204 yards with three touchdowns. Lucas Flemmer added a rushing touchdown. For Avon, Brady Bierema ran for 221 yards with three scores. Riley Rucktaeschel had a rushing touchdown. St. Mary had 440 yards of total offense to Avon's 362.
No. 3 Potter County 22,No. 2 Faulkton Area 12 --No. 3 seed Potter County scored three consecutive touchdowns to upend No. 2 Faulkton Area 22-12 on Friday night, setting up a showdown with Dell Rapids St. Mary in the Class 9B Championship. The Trojans scored early to take the lead, but quarterback Grant Luikens had a hand in all three Potter County touchdowns to boost the Battlers. He connected on two long passes before scoring on a five-yard touchdown run. With the win, Potter County avenged a 36-18 season opening loss to Faulkton, which finished its season at 8-3.
